2Corinthians 5:16-17 (Amplified) gives us the truth and image of who we've become in Christ Jesus. The natural body will die and remain on earth, until the full of the resurrection, but the new creation, the new living, speaking spirit that lives in this house of flesh will never die. We're now living by the very life of God Who has entwined Himself withing us, by His Own Spirit.
Jesus prayed in John 17:21-23 (Amplified), "That they all may be one, (just) as You, Father are in Me and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, so that the world may believe and be convinced that You have sent Me, I have given to them the glory and honor which You have given Me, that they may be one (even) as We are One. I in them and You in Me, In order that they may become one and perfectly united, that the world may know and (definitely) recognize that You sent Me and that You have loved them (even) as You have loved Me."
The above scriptures paint the perfect picture of the new creation, that was to come at Jesus' resurrection. From His birth, to death, to life, we also (by faith in Him) would pass from death to life as the new creation, into His family and household. Jesus is our example and He came to show us how a living, speaking, sinless child of God was to function on this earth. There had never been a man in God's Image and Likeness on this planet, except Adam. After Adam transgressed and lost the dominion and authority, through his union with the Father, no man ever walked in the Spirit Life again, until Jesus.
Jesus was born of a virgin, without the tainted blood of Adam in Him, so He could reveal to us how a sinless child of God was to walk from the very plan the Father had in the beginning. Jesus was our example and instructed how we, as the new creation, could now walk. We were to have dominion over the natural elements and to govern again by our new creation union with God.
As we follow Jesus' earthly walk, He displayed everything God intended all men to be from the beginning. His purpose for mankind, was to have family and fellowship with a begin in His same class, like Jesus is. Jesus said in John 4:24 (Amplified) that, "God is a Spirit (a Spirit Being) and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth (reality)."
Being born-again into this new creation, gives us the privilege of worshiping and fellow shipping with God, on His level of Being, because He created us in His Likeness in the Spirit of His Own Image. When man fell in the Garden, he was no longer in God's Image in the spirit. He died the death of sin, was separated from God Who if Life and became a slave and servant to death and sin. By this new creation, we have been set free from the Law of sin and death and made alive by God's Own Spirit.
This isn't a future event that will occur when we get to heaven, but this is who we are now, by Jesus' resurrection. Romans 6:5 (Amplified) says, "For if we have become one with Him by sharing a death like His, we shall also be (one with Him in sharing) His resurrection (by a new life lived for God)." When we received Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we also received His death as payment for our sin. What we seemed to have missed, was the fact that we didn't remain dead, just like Jesus didn't and we were raised with Him when Jesus rose from the dead and became a new creation. Like God created man in the beginning, He has now through Jesus, made a new creation man for Himself. We were not made over, but have become an entirely new creation.
Jesus walked in our presence, like Adam was supposed to have walked with the Father from the beginning. God couldn't re-make made from the dust of the earth and start over. He had to create a new Man, Who was without sin and not just forgiven. Simply forgiving sin would leave the spirit of man dead unto God, but alive in his flesh and still separated from the Father. God could accept the blood of bulls and goats to cover sin, but that didn't remove the sin and death. This was the old creation, that was perishing. God needed a way to not only cover sin and maintain contact with only mortal man by Laws, but He required a man who was literally alive in his spirit, in order to rule the natural creation through the spirit. This man would have to be a new creation and one who was placed back into right standing with the Father Himself.
God would need to make an entirely new creation, in order to make man righteous. God could place the entire penalty of Adam's sin upon Jesus and from the Blood Sacrifice of His Son, God could start all over with this new creature. Under the old covenant, sin was covered and the penalty was delayed. Under the new creation, sin was abolished and the penalty paid in full.
We are completely identified in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. The only thing left now, is the resurrection of our mortal body at the soon coming, Last Trumpet. God will then, make a new heaven and earth to house His new creation and bring all of creation back into order.
We are a new creation, raised into the spirit realm of our Father and must now learn to walk, talk and live outside of the limited realm of the senses. We must learn to live in the new realm of the Spirit. We must learn the laws that govern the spirit realm and live in the limitless realm of heavenly things. Jesus was our example of this, when He walked above the limits of the natural, into the infinite realm of the spirit world that created all of the natural realm.
We've looked at Jesus as if He was the only One Who could live in the power of the Spirit. According to the Word, this is no more truer than saying that the first Adam was to be the only one who could govern from the beginning. God told Adam to "multiply and replenish" the earth. He never intended Adam to fail at passing the ability God had given him, to his children.
Revelations 21:1-2 (Amplified) says, "Then I saw a new sky (heaven) and a new earth, for the former sky and former earth had passed away (vanished), and there no longer existed any sea. And I saw the Holy City, the New Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, all arrayed like a bride beautified and adorned for her husband."
This is the new place for God's new creation family to live in, like He intended from the beginning. We are now the new creature God has created through Christ Jesus, who will inhabit the new heaven and new earth. We've misunderstood how we are already in this "oneness" as Jesus and the Father are One. The new place God has designed, is what He intended for Adam and his descendants. This heaven and earth was to be with Adam, like the new heaven and earth will be for those who are in Jesus.
While we remain in this mortal body, we are to rule it by our new creation spirit that now lives withing our house of flesh. We are to follow the example of our Last Adam, Jesus and we're to walk in His Image even here on this earth. He has made all of heaven's resources available to the new creation people, just like God did with Adam. Adam had complete dominion and authority. Jesus has given us this dominion and authority now, to use for the liberating of the nations.
