2Corinthians 5:17 (Amplified) says, "Therefore, if any person is (ingrafted) in Christ Jesus (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether) the old (previous moral and spiritual condition) has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come."
There is so very much to learn about the new creation that we haven't been taught throughout the years. We've been trained about what the Church is in the eyes of the world's understanding, but that is much different than what God says. We've been taught a great deal about abstaining from sin and ungodliness (and that is very good).
When we (the Church) allowed the world to determine how we were to be, we made the new creation into religion, instead of relationship. Satan is in control of mankind through his lies and deceit, ruling them through religion for millennia. He knows that mankind was created for worship and has devised the way for that worship to be to himself. Satan has set himself up to be the focus of man's worship, in every religion of the world. He even tried directing the worship of Jesus to himself in the wilderness, by offering Jesus the world. If Jesus had accepted satan's bribe, then He would have fallen under and into the same trap Adam fell under at the beginning.
The Church was never intended to be under any sort of bondage to any god, but a pure bondage, by choice as Paul declared in Romans 1:1 (Amplified) saying, "From Paul, a bond servant to Jesus Christ (the Messiah)." A "bond servant," is one who chooses to be bound to another by an act of free will and choice. This is far different from those who are bound by fear, greed, or any other form of bondage.
Satan has always tried ruling over man by his own design of religion. Don't think that he hasn't tried to rule the Church with the same lie that he rules all religions. He has come into the Church with his own brand of religion and by his own traditions, thus holding back the very power of God from God's people through deceits and lies. He has established a fear of God (not the the respect and reverence kind) in the Church. God's people became afraid that if we don't follow a certain law of religious order, then we should fear punishment.
Romans 8:1-2 (Amplified) says, "Therefore, (there is) now no condemnation (no adjudging guilt of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live (and) walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit. For the Law of the Spirit of Life (which is) in Christ Jesus (the law of our new being) has freed me from the Law of sin and death." We were to be made free from the Law of sin and death, by being led by our spirit, through the Word (which is Spirit) and the Holy Spirit. We weren't created to be led again by rituals and traditions of men, but by God Himself.
Men began replacing traditions and rituals on the Church and we fell into the same trap satan used to deceive man from the get-go. This led to our not being able to hear from our spirit and our falling back into the dictates of the flesh. The flesh could never live up to the expectations of what God created us to be. Paul commented on this very thing, to the Church in Galatians 3:3 (Amplified) saying, "Are you so foolish and so senseless and so silly? Having begun (your new life spiritually) with the Holy Spirit, are you now reaching perfection (by dependence) on the flesh?"
Paul continued his writings to the Church about traditions and rituals in Galatians 6:7-8 (Amplified) saying, "Do not be deceived and deluded and misled; God will not allow Himself to be sneered at (scorned, disdained, or mocked by mere pretensions or professions, or by His precepts being set aside) (He inevitably deludes himself who attempts to delude God) For whatever a man sows, that and only that is what he will reap. For he who sows to his own flesh (lower nature, sensuality) will from the flesh reap decay and ruin and destruction, but he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life."
If you've already made Jesus the Lord of your life, then you already have eternal life, but what we reap from that life is now determined whether we will choose to serve the spirit or flesh. By traditions of the flesh, we can only reap from the flesh and we can reap the things of the new creation man after the Spirit, by serving the Spirit.
Because the new creation man has allowed himself to be made subject to ideas and traditions from the past, we have forfeited many things the Father intended for us to do and enjoy. Satan has still set himself up to receive what he has done as being from God. How many of us in the Church today, are giving god credit for things that satan is doing in our lives? When satan destroys something and we declare that "God did it," then who receives the glory? God? No! He doesn't want that kind of lie perpetrated in His Name.
Religious tradition has demoted the glory of our Heavenly Father into the image of the "thief who comes to steal, kill and destroy." When we say that God did these things, then the proclamation goes to the thief and not to God. Satan, then, sets himself in a place where he is god and accepts all the thanks for our destruction as God.
The simplicity of knowing our God, is to simply watch Jesus in His earthly walk. Jesus said in John 5:19 (Amplified), "I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, the Son is able to do nothing of Himself (of His Own accord) But He is able to do only what He sees the Father doing, for whatever the Father does is what the Son does in the same way (in His turn)." How can we believe that sickness, disease, heartache and corruption come from our Father? They can't, because Jesus healed these things.
Jesus never turned anyone away, who needed help or healing and He never put sickness or disease on anyone either. How did the religious teachings and traditions of the Spirit enter into the hearts and minds of the new creation man who was created by God? Paul gives us the answer in Galatians 3:3 (Amplified) saying, "Are you so foolish and so senseless and so silly? Having begun (your new life spiritually) with the Holy Spirit, are you now reaching perfection (by dependence) on the flesh?" We've all heard the old saying of, "We've heard it so long, that we believe it."
Jesus never taught such foolish things about the new creation man, that we hear being taught today. His idea and description of the new creation is found in John 17:26 (Amplified), where Jesus prayed, "I have made Your Name known to them and revealed Your character and Your Very Self, and I will continue to make You known that the Love which You have bestowed upon Me may be in them (felt in their hearts) and that I (Myself) may be in them." The "character and Very Self" Jesus revealed to us as our Father's, is not the character and self that today's Church sees and hears about. The traditions and flesh have perverted the Image of the Father into one that is wholly different from the way Jesus revealed Him. The deception of the enemy has deceived the new creation, just as surely as it did Adam and Eve in the beginning. We've taken the phrase, "You never know what God will do" and made a religion out of it, instead of watching Jesus reveal what God would do. Jesus said, "When you see Me, you have seen the Father." What part of that is so difficult to comprehend, as to what our Father desires for us?
Romans 8:14 (Amplified) tells us, "For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God." We are to be led by our spirit, not by the flesh and man's ideas of what they think about God. By our own ideas of the carnal mind, we have created a "Father God" Who we don't know or trust (for the most part). It's hard to trust someone who always changes his mind, about how he thinks and does things. This carnal mind-set, allows satan to steal, kill and destroy much of what our Father created for us to be and have. Romans 5:10 (Amplified) says, "For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, it is much more (certain) now that we are reconciled, that we shall be saved (daily delivered from sin's dominion) through His (resurrection) Life."
