Lesson 187 GRACE AND TRUTH-GOD'S WILL

John 1:16-17 (Amplified) says, "For out of His fullness (abundance), we have all received, all had a share and were all supplied with, one Grace after another and Spiritual Blessing upon Spiritual Blessing and even favor upon favor and Gift heaped upon Gift. For while the Law was given through Moses, Grace (unearned, undeserved favor) and Spiritual Blessing and Truth, came through Jesus Christ."
Abraham was Blessed, because of his faith in God's Word.  Abraham trusted God's Word to him and because of this, the Seed that God Promised came into this world and brought about our own deliverance.  Galatians 3:14 (Amplified) says, "To the end that through their receiving Christ Jesus, the Blessing Promised to Abraham might come upon the Gentiles, so that we through faith might all receive the realization of the Promise of the Holy Spirit."
Romans 4:18-19,21 (Amplified) says, "For Abraham, human reason for hope being gone, hoped in faith that he should become the father of many nations as he had been Promised, so numberless shall your descendants be. He did not weaken in faith when he considered the utter impotence of his own body which was as good as dead because he was about a hundred years old, or when he considered the barrenness of Sarah's deadened womb."  Verse 21 says, "Fully satisfied and assured that God was able and mighty to keep His Word and do what He had Promised."
God used this one man's faith, to bring forth the Promise of Jesus and restore the Blessing back into the earth and all His Seed.  Galatians 3:29 (Amplified) says, "And if you belong to Christ, are in Him Who is Abraham's Seed, then you are Abraham's offspring and Spiritual heirs according to the Promise."
2Corinthians 1:19-20 (Amplified) says, "For the Son of God, Christ Jesus (the Messiah), Who has been preached among you by us (by myself, Silvanus, and Timothy), was not Yes and No, but in Him it is always the Divine Yes. For as many as are the Promises of God, they all find their Yes Answer in Him (Christ), For this reason we also utter the Amen (So be it), to god through Him, in His Person and by His Agency, to the Glory of God."
God speaks forth the Promise of the virgin birth of Jesus, that was to become the Promise to Abraham and us, through Jesus, in Genesis 3:15 (Amplified), which says, "And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her Offspring. He will bruise and read your head underfoot, and you will lie in wait and bruise His heel."
This was the beginning of the Promise that is ours by faith in Jesus.  God spoke the virgin birth and the death of Jesus to satan that day, saying, "You will lie in wait and bruise His heel."  God began speaking forth the Promise of the Seed (Jesus), in every book of The Bible.  The things we read about in the old covenant, are Promises of the Seed.  As God spoke these Promises into His Word, He formed Jesus, from His birth to His death and to His rise in All authority and power, both in Heaven and in earth."  Matthew 28:18 (Amplified) says, "Jesus approached and breaking the silence, said to them, All authority, all power of rule, in Heaven and earth has been given to Me."
This isn't a Promise any longer, but is now Grace and Truth, because of Jesus' Resurrection.  It was a Promise for centuries, but it's now Truth.  One might ask, "What's the difference?"  Once a promise is fulfilled, it's no longer future.  Paul writes in Hebrews 11:1 (Amplified), "Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed), of things we hope for, being the proof of things we do not see and the conviction of their reality. Faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses."
The faith Abraham had in God's Promises, wasn't revealed to his senses.  He was 100 years old and Sarah was in her nineties.  Sarah had never bore a child, even during her youth.  Abraham had to stand in faith for God's Promise, believing God could and would do what He said.  Sarah didn't believe it could be done through her and encouraged Abraham to accomplish this Promise by himself, through another woman named Haggar.
If we stagger at God's Promise to us through Jesus, then we're still not trained in our senses.  God is able and Mighty to keep His Word and do what He Promised.  Genesis 3:22 (Amplified) says, "God said, Behold, the man has become like Us, the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit, to know how to distinguish between good and evil and Blessing and calamity."  Before eating from the forbidden Tree, Adam and Even knew only Blessing and good.  God never intended for mankind to know death, sorrow, disease, sickness, failure or any other such things.  Man only needed to know what the Father taught him, before the fall.
Today, we're taught that "God uses these things to teach us," because we've failed to appropriate the Truth of His Promises.  Jesus didn't "learn" how to walk with His Father by suffering all these things in His life.  Jesus simply allowed the Father to direct Him.  Jesus only suffered these things on the cross, so we could walk in the same Promise He walked in and brought to pass for us.  This is Grace and Truth.
We've seemingly lost sight of the fullness of this Truth and Grace and have accepted a lie that, "The Curse is our teacher," instead of walking in the Blessing Jesus came to fulfill.  Jesus is the Promise made Truth.  It's no longer a Promise to those who are born-again, but it's Truth.  A promise is future, a Truth is now.  Paul said that, "Now faith is the assurance, the title deed, the confirmation of things we hope for (Promise)."  This Promise is Truth.  It's the title deed, assurance and confirmation and it's now ours by faith, just like it was with Abraham.
We read about the Law of Truth in Malachi 2:5-6 (Amplified), where God says, "My covenant, on My Part with Levi, was to given him life and peace, because on his part of the reverent and worshipful fear (awe and respect) with which the priests would revere Me and stand in awe of My Name The Law of Truth was in his mouth and unrighteousness was not found in his lips; he walked with Me in peace and uprightness and turned many away from iniquity."
Notice that this Law of Truth was in the mouth of Levi and unrighteousness wasn't found in him..  We've been made righteous and God finds no unrighteousness in us, because of Jesus.  We must put this Law of Truth in our mouths and speak as the Redeemed of the Lord.  John 8:31-32 (Amplified) tells us, "So Jesus said to those Jews who had believed in Him, If you abide in My Word, hold fast to My Teachings and live in accordance with them, you are truly My disciples (students). And you will know the Truth and the Truth will set you free."  Jesus tells His followers in John 6:33 (Amplified), "It is the Spirit Who gives Life (He is the Life-Giver); the flesh conveys no benefit whatever (there is no profit in it). The Words (Truths) that I have been speaking to you are Spirit and Life."
God's Words are Truth, not what the flesh says.  We've heard many carnal sermons preaches about "the flesh," throughout the years.  We've now become like God said about Adam, knowing the difference between good and evil, Blessing and calamity.  We can now distinguish between good and evil, Blessing and calamity, and walk in the Law of Truth, by God's Word.  Paul writes about training the senses by the Word of Truth in Hebrews 5:14 (Amplified) saying, "But solid food is for full grown men, for those whose senses and mental faculties are trained by practice to discriminate and distinguish between what is morally good and noble and what is evil and contrary to Divine or human Law."  Without training, your senses or untamed flesh, will not distinguish between what is contrary to Divine or human Law.
Paul writes about renewing your mind, by God's Word in Romans 8:7 (Amplified).  He says we have to train our senses by the Law of Truth, so like Levi, it is what we speak.  Today's Church has spent so much time trying to correct our senses, instead of training them.  The senses will rebel against Truth, like they did before being born-again, unless we train them and renew our minds with God's Word.  Thus, Paul writes, "The mind of the flesh (senses) with its carnal thoughts and purposes, is hostile to God, for it does not submit itself to God's Law, indeed it cannot."  Our senses won't just go along with the new creation Life, but must be trained by the Law of Truth.
The things of the flesh aren't all sin, but they're not Truth.  Your flesh knows nothing about the things of God, but your spirit does.  Your flesh or senses will continue life in the only way it knows how.  Your flesh has long since forgotten that God put healing inside it, instead it resigns itself to sickness and disease as being part of normal life.  We've allowed the senses to rule the spirit and have reaped the consequences of it, which are death and disease.
I'm not talking about staying out of sin, because most Christians do this upon being saved.  I'm talking about training the flesh and senses, so that they now oppose anything that goes against the Law of Truth and they line-up with the Law of Truth.  Our flesh responds to the things we think and say.  We can train parrots, dogs and other animals to respond to the commands we speak, so why don't we believe we can train our senses to respond to the words we speak?  We must speak Blessing over and to ourselves and not speak the Curse.
Let's dare to be like Abraham, who was fully satisfied and assured that God is able and mighty to keep His Word and do what He had Promised.  This Promise is now Truth, because Jesus fulfilled it.  God backs His Promise, by His Name and Integrity.  God's Word is Truth.  Jesus tells us that, "The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth," in John 14:17.  Let's learn to listen to Him about the Blessing of Abraham and how it's been restored to us, in Jesus.  This is the same Blessing that God pronounced on the first Adam and has brought to pass, in the Last Adam Jesus.  There was no Curse pronounced on God's children at the beginning in the Garden of Eden.  We've been returned to Eden, by Jesus.
