Prov.4:7(Amp) says, "The beginning of Wisdom is, Get Wisdom (skillful and Godly Wisdom) For skillful and Godly Wisdom is the principal thing; and with all you have gotten, get understanding (discernment, comprehension and interpretation)."
1Cor.1:30(Amp) tells us, "But it is from Him that you have your life in Christ Jesus, Whom God made our Wisdom from God, (revealed to us a knowledge of the Divine plan of salvation previously hidden, manifesting itself as) our Righteousness (thus making us upright and putting us in right standing with God), and our Consecration (making us pure and holy), and our Redemption (providing our Ransom from eternal penalty for sin)."
The Word of God (Jesus) is Wisdom to all who will seek and strive to understand. The thing about wisdom is that we must desire it and seek it out through the Holy Spirit. Prov.2:7-10(Amp) says, "He hides away sound and Godly Wisdom and stores it up for the righteous (those who are upright and in right standing with Him. That He may guard the paths of justice; yes, He preserves the way of His saints. Then you will understand righteousness, justice and fair dealing (in every area and relation), yes, you will understand every good path. For skillful and Godly Wisdom shall enter into your heart and knowledge shall be pleasant unto you."
Wisdom has already been made available to anyone who will spend time to seek it out. Prov.3:14-16(Amp) says, "For the gaining of it, (wisdom) is better than the gaining of silver, and the profit of it is better than fine gold. Skillful and Godly Wisdom is more precious than rubies; and nothing you can wish for is to be compared to her. Length of days is in her right hand, and in her left hand are riches and honor."
Too many get born-again and stop there. We've been invited into God's Presence, belonging there as sons and daughters of God. God's Wisdom will bring understanding and discernment about all that Jesus has done for us, when He went to the cross. The "mysteries" of God have been revealed to us and for us, as we seek Wisdom like seeking silver and gold. Prov.1:7(Amp) says, "The reverant and worshipful fear of the Lord is the beginning and principal and CHOICE PART of knowledge (its starting point and its essence) but fools despise skillful and Godly instruction and discipline." I emphasized the words "CHOICE PART," because in some way or another we haven't made the choice to seek God's Wisdom for themselves. We've been satisfied to get saved, live right and go to Heaven when we leave this earth. This is all good, but let's remember that "fools despise skillful and Godly instructions and discipline."
We've put off learning the Word for ourselves, relying instead on someone else to seek out Wisdom for us. So many things the Father has for us, have been hidden away and stored up for the righteous. We've been made the righteousness of God through Jesus Christ, according to Rom.3:22(Amp) which says, "Namely, the righteousness of God which comes by believing with personal trust and confident reliance on Christ Jesus (the Messiah) and it is meant for all who believe, for there is no distinction."
Many stop at Rom.3:10,21-26(Amp), but we should read further because Verse21 tells us that we "Have been made righteous in our Lord Jesus, by faith in what He has done." Prov.4:7(Amp) tells us that "With all you have gotten, get understanding." So many of God's children haven't sought Wisdom, and don't know everything Jesus' Sacrifice has done for us. God says in Hosea4:6(Amp), "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge, because you have rejected knowledge." God didn't say that knowledge wasn't available to them, but that they rejected it. We've become used to the pastor seeking Wisdom for us, but this doesn't replace our seeking out God's Wisdom and plans for ourselves.
