Lesson 137 The New Creation

2Corinthians 5:17 (Amplified) says, "Therefore, if any person is (ingrafted) in Christ Jesus (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old (previous moral and spiritual condition) has passed. Behold, the fresh and new has come."
These lessons have been about how we are new creations.  We've read such scriptures (like the above one) with our intellect and have understood the meaning of their words with the carnal mind and the education provided by the world of natural man.  Jesus said in John 6:63 (Amplified) that, "It is the spirit Who gives Life (He is the Life-Giver) the flesh conveys no benefit whatever (there is no profit in it). The Words (Truths) that I have been speaking to you are Spirit and Life."  1corinthians 2:13 (Amplified) says, "And we are setting these truths forth in Words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Holy Spirit, combining and interpreting spiritual truths with spiritual language (to those who possess the Holy Spirit)."  John 3:6 (Amplified) tells us, "What is born of (from) the flesh is flesh (of the physical is physical) and what is born of the Spirit is spirit."
While trying to understand the things of the Father, we have stumbled over so many things in the flesh.  Our teachers have taught with good intentions and purpose, but still have taught much from the flesh.  We had the understanding of natural man, but little revelation from the Holy Spirit.  Many of man's traditions and religion have been passed down through the centuries, but not much revelation was passed down.  Today, when revelation flies in the face of tradition, we still war with it in ourselves.  Everything we've been learning is not wrong, but it hasn't all been right.  Because we still live in this flesh and blood body, we are mostly led by it too.
We are truly new creations.  We read this in the Word, but we have very little revelation concerning this truth.  We've tried reaching into the truth of the Kingdom of Heaven from the outside-in, instead of from the inside-out.  Proverbs 20:27 (Amplified) says, "The spirit of man (that factor in human personality which proceeds immediately from God) is the lamp of the Lord, searching all his inner most past."  Even in this day and hour, we endeavor to bring about what we seek from God, by our own way and understanding.  When the Word doesn't conform to what we want it to say about certain circumstances, then we try to change it, instead of bringing our understanding in line with the Word.
We are a new creation family who is alive once again in spirit to God and all of our revelation and understanding now comes from and through our born-again spirit.  The above scripture tells us that "light and revelation comes through our new living spirit."  Our Father "uses our new spirit to instruct, guide, discipline, correct and train in holy living in thought, purpose, and action, to the ways of righteousness, and God's will for our lives," according to 2Timothy 3:16 (Amplified).
God's Words are Spirit and Life.  In order to bring us into conformity to His will and bring the correct revelation, this Word must enter into our spirit.  When the Word is only heard with our human understanding and not the spirit, it only brings forth laws that are powerless in our lives.  Since we are Spirit beings and new creations, we must have revelation to live in the power of the Word.  Even the truth about our healing and our peace cannot come from the outside-in, but must come from the inside-out.
Proverbs 4:20-22 (Amplified) says, "My son, attend to My Words, consent and submit to My sayings. Let them not depart from your sight, keep them in the center of your heart (spirit), For they are Life to those who find them, healing and health to all their flesh."  The health and healing of your flesh, then, start and flow from your spirit and the Word from the inside-out.  Many become offended at teachings that are "against" their religion, just like when the Lord Himself taught.  This isn't deliberate, but is a cultural thing that opposes truth.
We've come to the place where our own culture governs our spirit life with the Lord.  Our culture has determined how we receive God's Word and what part of the Word is for today or has passed away.  Man's culture has become more of our way of life, than the Word.  Today, there are many nations that still determine how, when, who and what the people can worship.
There was a culture controlling the people, even in Jesus' time.  More of the Gentiles were open to the Lord, than were the covenant people of God.  Tradition that was brought on by the culture, determined which day Jesus could heal and how He could do so.  If Jesus' actions opposed tradition, then they were wrong in the eyes of those in control.  Many of the things Jesus did and said, offended their ideas of how and when He could (and should) do things.
Many cultures today, would limit the way Jesus operates.  For the believer, any form of faith must begin and end in Jesus.  In order to have faith for healing, we must first have faith that Jesus bore our sickness and disease.  If our faith is in any other thing, then it will not work to our advantage.  Even receiving forgiveness, requires faith in what Jesus did on the cross of Calvary.  For many, our culture still determines that we are "only sinners saved by grace."  This is true to a point, but only to a point.
We were sinners who were saved by grace, this isn't of ourselves, but is the grace of God.  Many traditions and religions continue teaching that "we are still sinners."  These teachings undermine our faith in Jesus' being our Sin Bearer, to the point where our faith in Him has been misplaced.  We believe that we must still prove in our fleshly deeds, instead of believing that His grace makes us whole.  Of course, we are called to live upright before Him, but we do this by faith in His ability to remove our sin.
Man's ideas about righteousness, tell us that we are still not righteous.  We have more faith in our own ability to be right, instead of in His ability to make us right.  Culture has shaped our way of walking and receiving from God, for centuries.  Culture in America has resulted in our walking in what we think the Word says, instead of the Truth of what is says.  We've allowed culture to drive and shape our walk with God, rather than the Word.
If we're seeking God for peace, healing, deliverance or anything else, then it must first come through our spirit and then be manifested into our soul and body.  Even after being born-again, we continue to seek God in our natural man and in our unrenewed minds.  We've nearly forgotten the fact that our God is a Super-natural God.
The modern culture in today's Church, has led us to nearly dismiss the super-natural and has led us to base our walk on intellectual things instead.  God has not changed, nor will He ever change.  If Jesus could not do any mighty works because of the unbelief of the people in Nazareth, then He is still limited by unbelief today.
Revelation only comes by the Spirit and the Word.  Many believe because they see signs and wonders, but that kind of faith is in the sense knowledge.  According to Mark 4:17 (Amplified), "When trials and tests come for the Word's sake, they become offended and fall away."  In today's Church and in the world, much about the Kingdom of Heaven or the Kingdom of God hasn't been taught.  Much has been taught to the world about being born-again, but not much has been taught about their being born-again into what?  What is it that we've been born again into?  What difference will being born-again, make in our lives?  What difference does the forgiveness of sin, make in our lives today?  What does it mean to Christians, for their walk with God?  How do all these truths affect our walk on earth and how are we supposed to lives as ambassadors for Christ?
This is what the new creation people must receive into their living spirits, in order to learn how to walk in the light by faith in Jesus and His ability He has placed withing our new living spirits.
