2Corinthians 5:17 (Amplified) says, "Therefore, if any person is (ingrafted) in Christ Jesus (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old (previous moral and spiritual condition) has passed. Behold, the fresh and new has come."
There has never been any creature like the new creation, before on this planet. We were not only saved from sin and death, but have actually been created "in Christ Jesus." For many, this is simply a religious term and nothing else, but when we received Jesus as our Lord and Savior, the Word says that we were born-again by incorruptible Seed, which is the Word of the Living God. This Seed is Christ Jesus Himself, according to Revelation 19:13 (Amplified) which says, "He is dressed in a robe dyed by dipping in blood, and the Title by which He is called is The Word of God."
We are not only created like Him, but we are created in and by Him, according to Genesis 1:11 (Amplified) which says, "And God said, Let the earth put forth (tender) vegetation, plants yielding seed and fruit trees yielding fruit whose seed is in itself, each according to its kind, upon the earth, And it was so." 1Peter 1:23 (Amplified) tells us, "You have been regenerated (born again), not from a mortal origin (seed, sperm) but from One that is Immortal by the Ever Living and Lasting Word of God."
As new creation people, we will never understand what our lives actually means in this world, until we first understand who we are. This great mystery has been well hidden for many years, by satan. If the Church continues to look at themselves through the eyes of the religious sect, we will never dare function the way the Father intended.
In order to change the world and lead the people to salvation, we must first understand who we are. We serve a Super-natural God and Father Who has given us His Life to live in this world. We have been somewhat successful in leading people to salvation and being born-again, but not in setting them free. Even the sin that we were saved from, has been like an anchor on the legs of the Church. We've spoken to the Church like they are still sinners, instead of new creation people.
Very little has ever entered into the new born spirit, that came with our new birth and the struggle with the flesh continues like before. Our flesh was never subjected to the new creation spirit that abides within this house of flesh. Romans 8:14 (Amplified) says, "For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God." A better rendering of this scripture might say, "For all who are led by the Spirit of God are mature sons of God." We haven't yet entered into maturity as God's sons and daughters.
We read God's Word and still identify more with sin than righteousness in ourselves. Many associate the identifying of ourselves with Jesus, as being prideful. In reality, it is prideful and a false humility, when we don't identify ourselves with Jesus. When we count ourselves with the old man and not the finished works of Jesus, we are actually declaring that what Jesus did, didn't work. This is pride, at its greatest. Who are we, to deny what Jesus has done on our behalf, just to hold-on to our guilt and flesh?
According to the above scripture, being led by the Spirit of God is taking dominion over the flesh and bringing it into submission to the Spirit. Hebrews 5:14 (Amplified) says, "But solid food is for full grown men, for those whose senses and mental faculties are trained by practice to discriminate and distinguish between what is morally good and noble and what is evil and contrary either to divine or human law."
We are instructed to take God's Word into our new creation spirit and use it to "train" the flesh and soul of our being, by practice and consistent use of that Word. If we can train a dog, bird, or lion by practice, then we can train our body. Allowing the flesh to simply go on undisciplined by the spirit, is like allowing a child to grow up without any discipline in the home. That child will finally rule the parent and the home.
It doesn't matter how smart a child is, no child can rule a household and expect it to run smoothly. We need to "Train a child by the Word" and by our example, how to behave in the adult world. Today, many children have grown up without instruction or example. Even athletes cannot hope to run marathons without training. They train their body to do what is doesn't want to do and they stay in control of the flesh.
Our new creation man is a new spirit that is so intertwined with the Spirit of God, that you will never be separated from Him ever again. If you pour a cup of water into a lake, then you can never dip that same cupful from that lake again. You might dip out another cupful from that lake, but the original cupful can never be separated from the lake again.
The new creation is so intertwined with the Spirit of God, that like that cupful of water, it can never be separated ever again. Our new man has the "Father in us, Who does the work," just like Jesus stated about Himself. We can train the flesh, by the infusing of God's Spirit in our spirit.
As we enter a new year, let's also enter into our new life. Our nation is about to take on a new face and nature, so should we (the Body of Christ), take on a new face. We must begin to look like Jesus in the eyes of the world. If ever "seed produces after kind," then we are supposed to bear the Image of the Seed that produced us. The first Adam was made like God and the Last Adam was made in God. We are a new creation, created in Christ Jesus. If we are created in Him, then like that cupful of water in the lake, we are "in Him" to stay.
The training of our senses isn't taking away what God created our senses for, but to keep them from ruling over our spirit man. Our spirit is supposed to be in authority over the senses and the flesh. We had it all backwards for so long, that we believe this is how it was to be. God's Spirit dwells within our new spirit. Our spirit is supposed to be in authority and training the flesh to comply with God's Word. Jesus was led by the Spirit of God and this is how we are to be led. Jesus said, "I only do what the Father (the Spirit of God within Him) tells Me to do."
