Genesis 1:26-27 (Amplified) tells us, "God said, Let Us (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) make mankind in Our Image (after Our Likeness), and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the (tame) beasts, and over everything that creeps upon the earth. So God created man, in the Image and Likeness of God He created him; male and female, He created them."
This was and still is, God's Original Intention for His family. We read about the Laws that govern the earth even today in Genesis 1:12 (Amplified), which says, "The earth brought forth vegetation; plants yielding seed according to their own kinds and trees bearing fruit in which was their seed, each according to its kind. And God saw that it was good (suitable, admirable), and He approved it." This Law of Creation still holds to this day. Apple seeds always produce apples and peach seed always produce peaches. Horses always produce horses and dogs always produce dogs. This is the Law of Genesis.
1Peter 1:23 (Amplified) says, "You have been regenerated (born again), not from a mortal origin (seed, sperm), but from One that is Immortal by the Ever Living and Lasting Word of God." We've been born from the Very Seed of God. According to God's Own Laws of creation, "everything produces after kind." We are born again, after Kind. 1John 3:2 (Amplified) says, "Beloved, we are even here and now God's children; It is not yet disclosed, made clear what we shall be hereafter, but we know that when He comes and is manifested, we shall as God's children resemble and be like Him, for we shall see Him just as He really is."
We pray and call Him, "Father," but somehow we fail to see ourselves as His children and in His Own Likeness. Throughout the years, we've been trained to see ourselves as unworthy sinners or as orphans, who are left out of God's Likeness and Grace. The Awesome Price that was paid to buy us back from sin and the Curse, has been clouded by the carnal minded world. Many longingly wish we could return to the old covenant. Hebrews 7:22 (Amplified) says, "In keeping with the oath's greater strength and force, Jesus has become the Guarantee of a better, stronger, agreement, a more excellent and more advantageous covenant."
God speaks about those who died and lived by faith, under the old covenant, in Hebrews 11:39-40 (Amplified), saying, "And all of these, though they win Divine approval by means of faith, did not receive the fulfillment of what was Promised. Because God had us in mind and had something better and greater in view for us; So that they, these heroes and heroines of faith, should not come to perfection apart from us, before we could join them."
2Corinthians 1:20 (Amplified) says, "For as many as are the Promises of God, they all find their Yes Answer in Him, Christ. For this reason we also utter the Amen (So be it), to God through Him, in His Person, by His Agency to the Glory of God." If we would only learn to trust in and believe what God has said about us, then we would realize that we were created according to Kind. The Law of Genesis still hold true in our born-again experience, through Jesus Who is the Word and the Seed of God. Jesus is the Same Word Who was made flesh, according to John 1:14 (Amplified), which tells us, "And the Word, Christ, became flesh (human, incarnate) and tabernacled among us."
Jesus is the Same Seed and Word, Who produced the new creation person in 2Corinthians 5:17 (Amplified) which says, "Therefore, if any person is ingrafted in Christ (the Messiah), he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old previous moral and Spiritual condition has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come." We've been taught to keep focused on the old man of the flesh, that was in a fallen state, instead of seeing ourselves after the Image and Likeness and the One Who birthed us into God's family. We need to see ourselves in our new creation life, instead of fallen men.
Through Jesus, we've been brought back into God's Original Intention for man and family. The Blessing God pronounced on Adam at the beginning, is the very same Blessing we've inherited through Jesus. Galatians 3:14 (Amplified) says, "To the end that through their receiving Christ Jesus, the Blessing Promised to Abraham might come upon the Gentile, so that we through faith might all receive the realization of the Promise of the Holy Spirit."
The Promise of the Holy Spirit became a reality in the Upper Room. Acts 4:2-4 (Amplified) says, "When suddenly there came a sound from Heaven like the rushing of a violent tempest blast, and it filled the whole house in which they were setting. And they were all filled, diffused throughout their souls with the Holy Spirit." Joel prophesied this moment in Joel 2:27-30. Certain circles have made this into a religion and have centered on the speaking of tongues and prophesying, but God's True Intent was to fill His family with Himself and bring us back into communion with Him, like He did in the beginning. We were to be once again in His Image and Likeness and in fellowship with Him, Spirit to spirit. John 4:24 (Amplified) says, "God is a Spirit (a Spiritual Being), and those who worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth (reality)."
This was and still is, God's Original Intent for His children. We are to be of one spirit with Him. We're to be led by, trained by and communicate with Him in Spirit and in Truth. When we deny our birthright and refuse to accept His Promise of being one and righteous in Jesus, we're no longer in Spirit and in Truth, but in the flesh. This is what faith is all about. It's trusting in His Word and not in our carnal mind. Paul writes about God's Word as being a "mirror," in 2Corinthians3:18(Amplified) saying, "And all of us, as with unveiled face, because we continue to behold in the Word of God as in a mirror the Glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His Very Own Image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of Glory to another, for this comes from the Lord Who is the Spirit."
A mirror reflects back to you, who you are and not who you were. When we see ourselves as He sees us, we constantly change into the image we see and that image is our Father. We've been afraid to believe what the Word says about us, fearing we would get into pride and fall from Grace. True pride is denying what God says and continuing in what we call Truth. This is the same as telling God that He has lied to and about us. It's the spirit of unbelief and is what caused those in the Wilderness from entering into His Rest. Hebrews 3:12 (Amplified) says, "Therefore beware, brethren, take care, lest there be in any one of you a wicked, unbelieving heart which refuses to cleave to, trust in, and rely on Him, leading you to turn away and desert or stand aloof from the Living God."
Like those in the Wilderness, we've caused the Promises of God from being manifested in our lives, by standing aloof from Him in unbelief.
