Genesis 1:26-27,28 (Amplified) says, "God said, Let Us (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), make mankind in Our Image (after Our Likeness), and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the (tame) beasts, and over all the earth, and over everything that creeps upon the earth. So God created man in His Own Image, in the Image and Likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them."
Verse 28 goes onto to say, "God Blessed them and said to them, Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it, using all its vast resources in the service of God and man; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and over every living creature that moves upon the earth." This Blessing was God's covenant to mankind, that they would prosper and rule over and have complete authority over the planet, as His family. Adam had the authority and dominion over satan, when this whole things began. Adam didn't use the authority and dominion God had given him, but delegated his God-given authority and dominion over to satan's control.
We sometimes fail to realize that, whatever we don't rule, will rule us. Jesus was tempted by satan and revered the same temptation that Adam faced, in Luke 4:5-8 (Amplified), which says, "Then the devil took [Jesus] up to a high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the inhabitable world in a moment of time (in the twinkling of an eye). And he said to [Jesus], To You I will give all this power and authority and their glory (all their magnificence, excellence, preeminence, dignity and Grace), for it has been turned over to me, and I give it to whomever I will. Therefore if You will do homage to and worship me, just once, it shall all be Your's. And Jesus replied to him, Get behind Me satan! It is written, You shall do homage to and worship the Lord God, and Him only shall you serve."
If Jesus had fallen for the temptation to take back all that satan had offered Him and had not taken rule over satan, then He would have been ruled by satan. This rule of authority was received back to Jesus in Matthew 28:18 (Amplified), which says, "Jesus approached, and breaking the silence, said to them, All authority, all power of rule in Heaven and on earth has been given to Me." Jesus' statement brought all things back into the hands of those, the Father gave it to in Genesis 1:26-28.
Jesus was the Son of man and the Son of God and He restored things back to God's Original intent for mankind. For some reason, we've neglected to take the authority and rule that was given to us through Jesus, just like Adam did. Jesus prays in John 17:22 (Amplified), saying, I have given to them the Glory and honor which You have given Me, that they may be one, even as We are One." J
Jesus told the seventy and us today, "Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and physical and mental strength and ability, over all the power that the enemy possesses, and nothing shall in any way harm you."
This same authority and dominion and power that was given to man in Genesis 1:26-28, has now been restored back to the rightful hands of God's family, through Jesus Christ. Most of us have had no idea who we were made to be, when we received Jesus as our Lord and Savior. The authority in His Name and the power of His delegated dominion, have been hidden from the Church, through the enemy's deception. Like Adam, we've failed to rule over areas of our lives and by doing so, have allowed the enemy to rule over us in these areas.
I don't believe that Adam knew the depth of his transgression and the far reaching consequences that it would bring, until it was too late. If we knew the far reaching consequences of certain things in our lives, then we would never forfeit our authority into the enemy's ability or power. Jesus said in Matthew 28:18 (Amplified), "All authority, all power of rule in Heaven and on earth has been given to Me." No power or authority was left to the enemy, so he uses deception.
Through deception, the enemy has busily usurped the authority and dominion of God's Own children, using it against them, like he did with Adam. If you don't understand your position in authority and dominion, then the enemy will "steal, kill and destroy," by any means of deception. Jesus gave "The Parable of the Sower," in Mark 4:14-15,17 (Amplified), saying, "The Sower sows the Word, the ones along the path are those who have the Word sown in their hearts, but when they hear, satan comes at once, and by force takes away the Message which is sown in them."
Jesus tells us in Verse 17, that, "When trouble and persecution arises, it comes on account of the Word, and those who heard became offended, resentful, displeased, and stumbled and fell away." They didn't use the authority and dominion that had been delivered back to them, which resulted in their forfeiting and allowing that authority and dominion to be used against them. God never meant for any of His children to be in subjection to any other power, but His. You don't rely on your neighbor to discipline your children. You're the only person who has that right.
We've been redeemed and restored back into God's Image and Likeness, as Spiritual children again. God deals with us, by and through, our new creation spirit being. God had to deal with those in the old covenant, through the flesh, because their spirit had been separated through Adam's transgression. Now, through Jesus, we've been brought back to God's Original Intent.
