Get Wisdom #11

Prov.4:7Amp) says, "The beginning of Wisdom is, Get Wisdom (skillful and Godly Wisdom) For skillful and Godly Wisdom is the Principal thing. And with all you have gotten, get understanding (discernment, comprehension, and interpretation."

James1:5(Amp) says, "If any of you is deficient in Wisdom, let him ask of the giving God (Who gives) to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly without reproaching or fault finding, and it will be given him." It's important to God that His children learn to have skillful and Godly Wisdom. Lack of Wisdom is why much of our prayer life isn't working.

Jesus was very clearly stressed to His followers, the importance of prayer. Everything Jesus did and called for, was based on prayer and Wisdom. He understood the importance of teaching His people how to function after He was gone. When Jesus multiplied the loaves and fishes, He used the same Wisdom that He has given us to use. He spent time with His Father for instruction in Wisdom Jesus needed to handle everything He did.

Jesus never stepped out unprepared in His earthly ministry. When the crowd told Him that Lazarus was sick, Jesus finished His lesson, stayed another day and then headed to Lazarus. It took the man one day's journey to bring the news to Jesus and then it took Jesus another day to reach Lazarus' home. When Jesus arrived, He was told that Lazarus had been dead for four days. Jesus knew something that the others didn't. He knew that Lazarus was already dead when the messenger got to Him.

Jesus spent that time before the Father for Wisdom and preparation. He told His disciples that, "Lazarus is only sleeping," in John11:11. Jesus approached Lazarus' tomb, looked up to Heaven and said, "Father, I thank You that You heard Me. I thank You that You always hear Me." When did the Father hear Him? The whole time He was asking for Wisdom on how to handle this situation. At the tomb, Jesus already knew what to do and exactly how to do it. How did He know? James tells us in James1:11(Amp) saying, "If any man lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, Who gives liberally and without reproach." Jesus knew this before James wrote this and believed this,

Too many times, we rush off without fully knowing what to do. We must take time to seek Wisdom in everything, before we do anything. When we minister to or pray for others, we can't be doing it out of habit because we're all called to pray for the sick. We are called to do that, but how does He want us to pray? When we read the Gospels, we realize that Jesus didn't pray or minister to the sick, blind, lame or dead in the same way. Jesus asked for Wisdom before ministering to the people, with 100% results. This is skillful and Godly Wisdom. Lazarus would have been just as dead if Jesus had rushed home to his sisters, instead of taking time to get there. Jesus said that, "Lazarus was sleeping," because He knew that Lazarus was already dead.

The time Jesus spent getting to Lazarus wasn't wasted time, but was the most important thing He could have done. Jesus needed Wisdom from God, so He could know what the Father wanted Him to do. Upon hearing that Lazarus was sick, Jesus went to the Father. When the crowd needed food,Jesus' disciples said that they would need to work for weeks to make enough money to buy the food for them. John6:6 tells us that "Jesus already knew what He was going to do." The Word says that, "If you lack Wisdom, ask God and He will show you." How many times did God teach and show us that we should ask and then we'll receive? That doesn't mean that we only ask for food or things, but for the Wisdom that will provided these things as well.
