Get Wisdom #3

  God commands us in Prov.4:5(Amp), "Get Wisdom (skillful and Godly Wisdom)." The Church is in the dark without skillful and Godly Wisdom. Paul instructed Timothy in 2Tim.2:15-16(Amp), "Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (by trial),  workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing (rightly) handling and skillfully teaching the Word of God." Paul tells Timothy to stay away from things that would hinder this Godly Wisdom in Verse 16, saying, "Avoid all (empty, vain, useless, idle)" because Paul says, "For it will lead the people into more and more ungodliness."

  When teachers teach from the wisdom of men, it deludes God's Wisdom and becomes empty, vain and useless idle talk. Paul wrote in Rom.3:3-4(Amp), "What if some did not believe and were without faith? Does their lack of faith and their faithlessness nullify and make ineffective and void the faithfulness of God and His validity (to His Word)? By no means; Let God be found true though every human being is false and a liar; as it is written, that you may be justified and shown to be upright in what you say, and prevail when you are judged by sinful men."

  1Cor.1:30(Amp) tells us, "But it is from Him that you have your life in Christ Jesus, Whom God made our Wisdom from God."  Paul tells goes on to tell us what Jesus is and has done for us in 1Cor.2:5-6(Amp) saying, "So that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men (human philosophy), but in the power of God. Yet when we are among the full grown (spiritually mature) Christians, who are ripe in understanding, we do impart a (higher) Wisdom (the knowledge of the Divine Plan previously hidden) but is indeed not a wisdom of this present age or of this world nor of the leaders and rulers of this age who are being brought to nothing and are doomed to pass away."

  The skillful and Godly Wisdom is now available through Jesus, to everyone who will abstain from old wives tales and fables and seek Him by rightly dividing God's Word. Much of what we know came by the wisdom of men and not the Holy Spirit. We don't throw out everything we know, but we must check it against Godly Wisdom and rightly divide it, like Prov. 4 says. Jesus told the "Parable of the Sower" in Mark4:24(Amp) admonishing, "Be careful of what you are hearing. The measure of (thought and study) you give to (the Truth that you hear) will be the measure (of virtue and knowledge)  that comes back to you-and more will be given you besides (to you who hear)."

  Notice how God is only obligated to give more to "those who hear the Truth" and only to those that will hear it. God watches over His Word to perform it. Many things that we've heard from man's wisdom, will not produce the harvest that God has promises. Many Christians have given up on faith and God's Promises, because we didn't heed or pay attention to what we were hearing or what was sown in our hearts. Only God's Word (Seed) will produce Heaven's Blessing and Promise, the the hundred-fold return.

  Prov.4:7(Amp) says, "Wisdom is the principle thing, therefore, Get Wisdom, and with all your getting, Get understanding."
