Prov.4:7(Amp) says, "The beginning of Wisdom is, Get Wisdom (skillful and Godly Wisdom)! For skillful and Godly Wisdom is the Principal thing And with all you have gotten, get understanding (discernment, comprehension and interpretation)."
James1:5(Amp) says, "If any of you is deficient in Wisdom, let him ask of the Giving God (Who gives) to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or fault ding, and it will be given him."
1Cor.1:30(Amp) says, "God has made us Wisdom in Christ Jesus." We now realize that the reason it's "skillful and Godly Wisdom," is because Jesus is our Wisdom and He is the " Principal thing." We're constantly being told about all the things we "must do in order to be a Christian," when we only need to receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Our Christian walk is to "get Wisdom" that the Father has given us through Jesus. The rest of our walk in His Wisdom in order to find out what we've received through Jesus.
Jesus took upon Himself, everything that stood between us and the Father. We've the Wisdom to know what He's done for us. Once we have Wisdom, the rituals and traditions we've been taught, become mere religious labors. We know too that our works won't save us and only our Savior can do that. It's not what we did, but what He has done for us. Skillful and Godly Wisdom will remove the burden of what to eat, what to wear and what days to worship, from our walk with the Lord. Jesus said in Matt.11:30(Amp), "My burden is light and easy to be borne." Heb.4:11(Amp) tells us, "Let us therefore be zealous and exert ourselves and strive diligently to enter that rest (of God) (to know and experience it for ourselves) that no one may fall or perish by the same kind of unbelief and disobedience (into which those in the Wilderness fell)."
Heb.4:10(Amp) says, "For he who has once entered God's Rest, also has ceased from the (weariness and pain) of human labors, Just as God Rested from the labors peculiarly His Own." We're not called to labor, but to rest in the Finished Work of Jesus. When we have skillful and Godly Wisdom, the labor of trying to make it on our own is over in our lives.
We cannot make ourselves righteous. We must rest in the Wisdom of God and simply accept by faith that God has made us Righteous in Christ Jesus our Lord. When we realize by skillful and Godly Wisdom, that God has already provided everything it takes to make us everything He intended, then we be like Paul wrote to Timothy in 2Tim.2:4(Amp), "Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourselves to God approved (tested by trial), workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing (rightly handling and skillfully teaching the Word of Truth."
Too many believers today are like those in the Wilderness. We've found it hard to believe that Jesus did it all for us. We must need to receive by faith what He has done and walk in it. When we understand the Truth of what God has said, then the washing of water by the Word will cleanse us from all the outer things of our flesh. The trials will come, the devil will make sure of that. He'll try to bind us with his lies and bring up the things we did in the past. We must not listen to the devil, but rest in what Jesus did for us, in skillful and Godly Wisdom.
The old things we've been struggling with will be removed, when we learn, know and trust in God's Wisdom. A newborn grows, matures and learns, putting away the things he/she once did. We too grow from babes in Christ into maturity. 1Pet.2:2(Amp) says, "Like newborn babies, you should crave (thirst for, earnestly desire) the pure (unadulterated) Spiritual milk, that by it you may be nurtured and grow unto (completed) salvation."
Healing has already been provided, but if we don't know that, then we'll continually believe we did something wrong and that's why healing didn't work. When we seek skillful and Godly Wisdom, then we'll rightly divide God's Word and accurately seek the Word of Truth. Man's wisdom will keep us from entering God's Rest, like those in the Wilderness. God provided so many miracles for those who were under Egypt's bondage, but they didn't enter into the Promised Land, because they grumbled, complained and failed to believe God's Promises. God has provided everything we need, through His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
