Get Wisdom #9

In Prov.4:5,20-27(Amp) God says, "Get skillful and Godly Wisdom, get understanding (discernment, comprehension, and interpretation), do no forget and do not turn back from the Words of My Mouth."

God also tells us that the "Words of His Mouth are Wisdom" and this Wisdom will "bring healing to our body and life to our flesh." This comes by meditating on God's Word and allowing His Wisdom to become our wisdom. We need to do more than just read about the things Jesus did. We must learn from Jesus Who is Himself Wisdom.

Jesus was skillful in how He used this Wisdom. A paralyzed man was brought to Jesus through the roof of the home He was ministering. Jesus simply told the man that his sins were removed and the man was made whole. The man took up his bed and left. We would probably have poured oil on him, while laying hands on him until we rubbed sores on . Even then, he wouldn't have been healed and we would have concluded that, "It must not be God's will to heal him."

Jesus applied skillful and Godly Wisdom in the above situation. Jesus realized that the young man was paralyzed because sin, depression and guilt had overtaken his body. We see today where those who are depressed, are living under condemnation and guilt, many times have an illness in their bodies. Instead of laying hands on the man, Jesus released the man by His Word of Mercy. This is using skillful and Godly Wisdom.

This Wisdom is available to us today, but it takes time in the Word and listening to our Teacher, Who is the Holy Spirit. We often times, use guess work as to what the problem is and how to fix it. Jesus told us in John14:12(Amp) that "Those who steadfastly believe in Him would be able to do the things that He does." He meant that! Some would say, "Yes, but that was Jesus." Jesus knew that when He said that.

Jesus didn't say, "Because I'm Jesus, I do these great works." He did say, "It's not Me, but the Father in Me Who does the work." This same Father dwells in us today. We didn't get another Father, but the same Father that was in Jesus. Didn't Jesus teach us to pray, "Our Father, Who art in Heaven?"

We must come to the understanding of what Jesus told us and then use this Wisdom of God given to us in Jesus. 1Cor.1:30(Amp) tells us that, "God has made unto us, Wisdom in Christ Jesus." We have the Wisdom, but we haven't learned to use it in a skillful and Godly manner. I've purposely read and reread the four Gospels, to see how Wisdom functioned in the healings and miracles Jesus performed. Jesus used Wisdom like a surgeon uses a scalpel. God's Word always works; we just need wisdom to use it properly. Not all people are the same. We must listen to the Holy Spirit, because He will tell us how to use God's Wisdom skillfully. The very Words Jesus spoke to the paralyzed man, work today, but it takes skillful Wisdom on whom to speak them and when to speak them. This is listening to the Voice of Wisdom, Who is the Lord.

Remember the lady in the nursing home, whose hands were crippled into tight fists? I didn't use skillful Godly Wisdom, when I first laid hands on her. That wasn't what she needed, but it was the only wisdom I held at that time. When the Lord spoke to me about "loosing her," I used skillful Wisdom and the lady was made whole. This Wisdom has been made available to us through Jesus. We must "study to show ourselves approved, a workman worthy of hire."
